The article discusses the development of the discipline “Organization of an Accessible Environment” in the modern conditions of a megalopolis. The paper analyzes the main and related tasks that are solved during the development of the discipline, as well as its practical application. The article presents and explains the concept of passengers with limited mobility. It also analyzes the state standards for providing passenger transportation for passengers with limited mobility. The article identifies the shortcomings in the system of accessibility criteria. Therefore, the article proposes an indicator of accessibility for transport infrastructure facilities and a method for calculating it.
