The article considers the method of analogies in the context of teaching the specifics of the engineering and geological conditions of St. Petersburg for students of “Tunnels and Subways” specialization. Author has developed an analogy called the “geochronological clock face” to form a visual representation of the geological time scales with an emphasis on the structure of the engineering and geological section of our city.
